Mundo Verde is a family company that was founded in 2003 with the aim of aiding medical students to complete their qualification by finding them the right place to accomplish their medical elective work placement. It began as a charitable organisation working for the conservation of the Amazon jungle but it soon evolved and created strong ties, proving that it isn’t necessary to be a strictly charitable organisation to support the community. Through the services Mundo Verde offers to its clients we support our community.
Mundo Verde provides specifically tailor-made electives in the medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy and midwifery fields in different countries, very different to their own, to provide them with new experiences and to work on cases which they wouldn’t find during their education back home. We give an excellent balance between work and free time with our adventurous overseas placements, making for a nice getaway from all the studying and tests over the years! We provide Spanish lessons and excursions for every placement, and even some salsa lessons in some locations.
All our staff are experts in their fields, be it in the hospitals, on the trips or at the office and are always there to help. We at Mundo Verde have been organising trips and internships for students from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, South Africa, Netherlands, Germany and other countries since 2003, so we know what we’re doing and have strong bonds with the hospitals and clinics.
We mastered our programmes in Peru for nearly 10 years before jumping into other destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, it took us a decade of learning to spread our model into other regions within South, Central and North America. We have made sure to select secure, safe and well located living quarters and you can focus on and enjoy your experience knowing that we have everything arranged and you don’t need to worry about a thing!
Taylor-made electives is what we offer at Mundo Verde, we make sure the students we host get the most out of the elective we organise whilst enjoying an adventure overseas. Our clients are professionals and students in the fields of healthcare and environmental sciences. Our programmes are oriented around and focused on supporting the community and providing the students with great satisfaction through learning and support. We aim to give the students an excellent start in their chosen career with valuable experiences that they will cherish forever and aiding the underprivileged patients with well targeted projects. We thrive to make a difference!
We understand everyone has particular needs and use the strong alliances we have formed in the medical system in each and every destination to customise the perfect placement to accomplish your objectives. We provide you with full support before, during and after your elective.

All these travels served him to learn and be involved in the travel industry. He has been at the helm of Mundo Verde since its inception back in 2003. This time has given him the opportunity to create a network of contacts in the healthcare field and at the same time, has given him the opportunity to learn about the needs of each region in which he has worked and traveled, and now turns all this experience into the elective arrangements, combining all what it takes to deliver an outstanding experience for you.

In the time that we have been working on the development of the elections, we have managed to create alliances with local actors, organisations dedicated to the health and welfare of their communities, at the same time, we have managed to create strategic alliances with hospitals and health centers.
One of the things you most commonly see online is the false charity of some companies that work with volunteers. The following sentences such as “we support” “part of the money you pay is for them” “we donate to every hospital” “we build health centers” and many more are surely familiar to you, unfortunately they are difficult or impossible to verify and are used by many companies related to volunteer work. We are aware of all these situations and that is why from our company we promote respect for the customs of each community and based on that we create a better approach to help through donations either in equipment, medicines, health campaigns, educational projects and conservation projects. Many of the organisations we support are not even on the internet or on the “tourist map” of an area and that doesn’t mean they don’t exist
Without a doubt, the perfect example of a programme that causes a direct positive impact on a community is our Dental Outreach, which we carry out with our dental students who embark on two weeks of intense and hard work in disadvantaged communities where villagers benefit from dental care and medicines that we provide for free. We have proven that a company can generate resources through social support.
At Mundo Verde, we pay for the services that ministries of health, hospitals, healthcare centres provide to us, these services are basically to host our students and allow them to rotate in their units in hospitals, health centers and other institutions related to the healthcare system, we emphasize paying for each day that each student participates in the rotations, regardless of the student attending or not, we also pay each supervising doctor who shares their teachings and their time with our students generating a circle of economic growth at a local level, which is fair to everyone.
Our multidisciplinary team is formed by people highly specialized in their field and very committed to our work. Our main target here is to accompany you in every step of your elective healthcare from the very beginning during the registration process all throughout the elective itself.
We ensure that when you decide to participate in our electives you are properly guided throughout each of our registration steps. Immediately upon receipt of the completed form, our reservations and inter-institutional relations manager gets to work with the strategic partners we have, after a week or two, depending on the destination you are seeking your elective, we will obtain a letter of acceptance for you to attend the hospital as a foreigner student. Immediately after getting this acceptance document, the planning manager takes the post, proposing a tentative itinerary of activities that encompass work in hospitals as well as tours and other activities included in our electives. Once you approve the itinerary, the person in charge of preparation begins with his work, at this stage of the process we will advice on everything necessary for your trip, from vaccines, visas, what to pack and other details that will make your trip an enduring experience. Upon arrival at your destination, our in-country team will welcome you and assist you in each of your activities during your elective, remember that, for each activity organised, a representative of Mundo Verde will be with you to introduce you to the people in charge so you will not be on your own guessing who to talk to or who to look for.
