“Our group spent four weeks based in Cusco, incorporating a week in the rainforest area of Huyro, during our medical elective with Mundo Verde. As none of us had ever travelled in South America before, we didn’t know what to expect in Peru but we arrived to an airport pick up and we were taken to the very comfortable and safe-feeling apartment block that we’d call home for our month stay. Over the weeks that followed, we had Spanish lessons tailored to our needs, tried Salsa dancing and cooking classes locally. We went on trips to places like Lake Titicaca and Machu Picchu in between days of observing doctors in the local hospital. All of this was organised for us through the company, including transport to and from most destinations that we needed to visit, so there was very little for us to have to worry about. Pablo and other members of the Mundo Verde team couldn’t do enough to help us out and really wanted to get to know us and the other groups that were also staying in our apartment block. There was a real sense of us becoming part of a family thanks to all the people who wanted to make sure that we had the best possible experience in Peru”
